The original CANINE GOOD CITIZEN™ Course (1995-96 to 1998-99) was trailblazing and held in high esteem in the industry although there were no applicable standards within the Australian Qualifications Training Framework at that time.

Since 1999-2000 the Course has been conducted by Delta Society Australia at a nationally recognised Certificate IV level. Instructors who have graduated since that time are identified in the lists by the post nominal “Certificate IV".
